Episode Summary
It is something that has been around from the beginning of time. Although around for so long, it is a topic that people usually do not like to discuss. It is usually such a difficult issue that, even when it does appear, even then people don’t discuss it. Yet, while some people choose not to talk about it at all, others think about it often. They do not fear it, but embrace it as a reality that is just going to happen. Even the Saints thought about it daily, as a time they would go from life to true life.
As long as there was life on the earth, there was death. While man was created to be in communion with God forever, he put an end to this by disobeying God’s command. Yet, while death and dying is something that is unknown until experiencing it, it is also a starting point: a time that people experience the beginning of new life, of a greater communion with God.
iEcclesia presents the second of a three part program on Death and Dying: The Journey to Eternity.
Many people have experienced having a loved one (family or friend) suffering a terminal illness. It is a difficult time, as life slowly is taken away from that person. Guest host Tim Prattas begins the program by asking the panel what advice would they give both for the dying patient and for the people around them. Orthodox Christians believe that there is life after death and the panel discuss what heaven is and how do we get there, as well as what Hell is.
Watch for the conclusion of this series on a future broadcast.
