Episode Summary
It is something that has been around from the beginning of time. Although around for so long, it is a topic that people usually do not like to discuss. It is usually such a difficult issue that, even when it does appear, even then people don’t discuss it. Yet, while some people choose not to talk about it at all, others think about it often. They do not fear it, but embrace it as a reality that is just going to happen. Even the Saints thought about it daily, as a time they would go from life to true life.
As long as there was life on the earth, there was death. While man was created to be in communion with God forever, he put an end to this by disobeying God’s command. Yet, while death and dying is something that is unknown until experiencing it, it is also a starting point: a time that people experience the beginning of new life, of a greater communion with God.
iEcclesia presents the conclusion a three part series on Death and Dying: The Journey to Eternity.
The program begins with the topic of Children and death, two words that usually do not go together. Kids usually aren’t brought to funerals, to funeral homes, or any other place associated with death. Our guests give advice to parents on how should their children be taught about death and dying, What is a good age to begin introducing “death” to them and if they should they go to funerals. Next, the panel discuss koliva an memorials and their purpose and if they serve a purpose in today's day and age. The program concludes with some final thoughts from our guests.
